Neighbors - I longed for a place where people preferred carports rather than garages; a place where back doors were still left open and a spare key was rarely needed; a place where people knew their neighbors. I wanted a placed where our lives were lived inside and outside the front door; where conversation passed as easily as eggs borrowed over the fence. There is nothing like a neighbor and even better is one that is home.

Lemonade Stand - The day was beginning to wane, and the crowd was thinning. The lemonade was at the bottom of the canister. Eva had sold steadily all day for $1.00 a glass but now the rush was over. We decided to make a new batch of lemonade expecting God to show up. And He did. Who pours out an over-priced cool glass of lemonade just for a cup from a little girl? God does. He moves on the hearts of those around us to come to our aid. And mostly, they never know it. 

Borrowed Trouble - In those pressing last minutes before surgery, I called my mom quickly. She couldn't get to me as fast as things were unraveling. But that was ok. Her faith pulled me up no matter the distance. Pivotal moments are in everyone's life. They come disquised as casual conversations, chance meetings and being in the right place at the right time.
